Certified Family Law Specialist

Michelle “Mickey” Katz is the founder and principal attorney of the Law & Mediation Offices of Michelle Katz. She offers comprehensive, personalized family law counseling and services to clients in Los Angeles, as well as all of California. A Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California, she concentrates her practice in consensual dispute resolution (CDR) in divorce and other family law matters. She is an experienced mediator and advocate who is committed to achieving meaningful solutions for her clients through collaborative law, mediation, and other non-litigation conflict resolution methods.

Ms. Katz is an experienced family lawyer who has been counseling clients in family law matters for more than 30 years. A frequent speaker on mediation and collaborative law, her practice exclusively focuses in the area of divorce and family law dispute resolution through mediation and collaborative law. She also provides comprehensive counsel to clients entering relationship agreements, including pre-nuptial, post-nuptial, and cohabitation agreements. She is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. Katz began her undergraduate education at the University of California at Berkeley and graduated from Cornell University, where she earned a B.A. in philosophy as well as an M.Ed. She went on to earn her J.D. from San Fernando Valley College of Law and became a member of the California Bar shortly after. She has been certified by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization as a Specialist in Family Law since 1984.
